Dr. Sahar Fahmy Youssef Mehanna is currently working as Head of Fisheries Division and Head of Fish Population Dynamics and Stock Assessment Lab, National Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries Egypt. She received her Ph.D. in Zoology from Zagazig University, Zagazig, Egypt. Her working experience includes, worked as Researcher, Associate Professor, Professor, and Head of Fish Population Dynamics Lab at NIOF, and Stock Assessment and Fisheries Management expert in Marine Sciences and Fisheries Center, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries Wealth, Sultanate of Oman. Her area of research interest focus on Fish Population Dynamics and Aquatic Resources Assessment, Fish Stock Assessment, Fisheries Biology, Concepts of Aquatic Ecology, Tropic Modeling of Aquatic Ecosystems, Population Dynamics of Marine Invertebrates with Emphasis on Shrimp, Cuttlefish and Crabs, Application of (predictive) Fisheries Yield Models, and Ecosystem Management. He has published 96 articles in journals as author/co-author. She also completed number of research projects. She is member of Whos Who Organization, Leading Scientists of the World 2010, Union of Arab Biologists, Egyptian Society for Fish Resources Development, World Fish Center, Philippines, Arab Scientists, Syrian, Egyptian Society for Youth Projects Development and Environment, Egyptian-German Society for Zoology, Yemeni Society for Environment Conservation, African Association for Sustainable Development, and Egyptian Academic Society for Environmental Development. She is also member in high committee of Egyptian Marine Fisheries, Bardawil lagoon development, Lake Manzalah development, and Scientific Committee of the INOC annual conferences, Turkey. She is also serving as reviewer of many international journals. She is also supervising number of PhD and MSc students in her active supervision.
