Biography

Dr. Ranya Elbakatoushi is currently working as Assistant Professor in Biology Department, Faculty of Education, Alexandria University, Alexandria, Egypt. She obtained her PhD in Science from Newcastle University, Newcastle, U.K. She also worked as Demonstrator, Assistant Lecturer and Lecturer at Alexandria University, Alexandria, Egypt. She has 14 publications in journals as author/co-author. She was received UNESCO award (MAB young scientist’s research grant), Green Fingers Laboratory and Marie Curie Training Site MOTIVE, and International Scholarship (IRS) (Postgraduate Award). She also supervised 4 students thesis. She is member of The Egyptian Society of Experimental Biology, and the Egyptian Botanical Society. She is also reviewer for journals such as International Journal of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, International Journal of Medicinal Plant Research and African Journal of Agricultural Research. She also attended number of workshops and conferences. Her area of research interest focuses on Molecular Evolution and Molecular Ecology, The Origin of Genetic Variation in Plant Populations, Population Structure and Gene Flow in Plants, Conservation of Endemic Plants, Soil Pollution and Plants.
