Biography

Federico De Marco MD, PhD, is Senior Virologist at the Regina Elena National Cancer Institute of Rome and a senior partner of the Dept of Biochemistry at the Medical Faculty of Sapienza University of Rome. Dr De Marco has over 50 scientific papers and projects either presented or published and a sound reputation of rigorous research in several areas of experimental medicine and biology. He is Adjunct Faculty at Sapienza Medical Faculty where he routinely lectures on various topics related to infectious diseases medical treatment. By unanimous acknowledgement he has a wide medical cultural background and a remarkable education in basic sciences. He has continuously cultivated a deep interest in humanities, with special regard to the impact of low income impact on health conditions and opportunities, to psychology and to teaching sciences and practices. Although he is deeply interested in basic biomedical research, considering the clinical experience and practice as the inspiring bases of experimental research he has continuously cultivated his medical profile. Accordingly he ha obtained a full train in Clinical Infectious Diseases in 1993 and since then has been conducing a free-lance consultant activity as bio-molecular specialist for a number of private health services providers operating the Rome Area. Within this activity he as implemented and a number of in house methods for the Nucleic Acid Based diagnoses of infectious diseases and for the identification of molecular markers of medical and veterinary relevance.
