Dr. Alex Ooi Boon Yaik has completed his MSc in Computer Sciences in 2007 and obtained his PhD from the School of Computer Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2012. He is currently an Assistant Professor in Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FICT), Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Malaysia. He holds the position of Head of Department for the Department of Computer Science (DCS) in the faculty. His current interest revolves around Autonomous Resource Management in Distributed Computer Environment such as Internet of Things (IoT), volunteer computing, Cloud Computing and enterprise computing. In a nutshell, he is attracted to solutions that are aware of its environment and autonomously optimized its usage of available resources. In addition to that, he holds Huawei HCNA-Cloud, ISTQB CTFL, TRIZ level 1 and 2 professional certificates.
