He has done his masters in Zoology in Annamalai university, Annamalainagar during 1992-1994. He has scored university Rank II and Distinction in his specialisation in Entomology.
He joined prestigious Defence Research and Development Organisation, DRDE Gwalior, as a Medical Entomologist, in JRF position and he has completed his Ph D in Neurobiology of Defence oreinted Medically/verternary important insects. In addition, his studies on electoron microscopy both in ultrastructure (TEM) and Morphology (SEM) is commendable and took majority of the thesis. For his electron microscopy, he had collaboration with Prof R Naresh Singh of Molecular Biology Unit, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Navy Mumbai. And he got trained there for 3 months.
Further he has been appointed as a Post Doctoral Fellow in SPIC Science Foundation, Guindy, Chennai, under Rockefeller Fellowship for Rice Biotechnology with Dr George Thomas, Director SPIC Science Foundation and served there for nearly 3 years. He has been assigned to evaluate the transgenic plants cloned with anti-insect feedant protein, and do the assay the same. He has successfully completed and tried for F1 segregation analysis of those transgenic seeds with various methods. He has carried out this transgenic plants with Spodoptera litura and army worm. Besides these he has actively involved in various field of research including, overexpression of recombinant protein and insect feeding bioassay of the same recombinant protein, transferring the insect tolerant protein expressing ngenes in tobacco, cauliflower and cabbage, standardisation of Western blot for the transgenic plants that they were generated, over expression and His-tag based nickel affinity chromatography etc.,
He has also done a Post Doctoral Fellow in EGIDE France an indo-French Fellowship. And trained in Universitie de Technology de Compiegne, Compiegne France. For one Month during Dec 2003.
He joined VIT university in 2002, and works in the field of human male infertility. He and his team of researchers, including Dr M Ramesh Pathy, Dr A S Vickram, Dr. E Nalini, and many Ph D Scholars were actively involved in this human male infertility. For that they have an active collaboration with Dr Kamini A Rao, founding Medical Director, International Institute for research in reproductive Health, (IIRRH BACC), Milann, Bangalore. They offer a Post Doctoral Fellowship for enhancing his team of researchers. His team has plan to identify fertility related proteins and supply of the same along with infertile semen to enhance fertility by ART techniques. Seminogelin is one such protein identifies and they were characterised the same. They have standardised a rapid protocol for isolation of human semen DNA. Team members also actively involved in various aspects / causes for infertility, including lifestyle factors (alcoholics, smokers, food habits) Occupational health (Drivers, Software radiations, Mobile phone radiation), based infertility, Obesity and monogenic inheritance and their influence in infertility, his group has more than 30 publications in national and international reputed Journals in this area. He has completed 7 Ph Ds and 2 MS) by Research students. And 6 Ph. D Scholars are currently working.
