Biography

Dr. Arup Kumar Mukherjee obtained his PhD in 1996 in Plant Pathology at Central Rice Research Institute, Vidyadharpur, Cuttack, Odisha, India and currently working as Senior Scientist at same university. His topic of PhD thesis is “Components of Slow-Blasting-Resistance in Rice”. His experiences include 12 year Research experience, nine years and eight months as Scientist in the Regional Plant Resource Centre, IRC Village, Bhubaneswar, Orissa. Dr. Arup Kumar has received number of honors include Anand Prakash Award for 2014 for significant contribution in Plant Protection from Applied Zoologists Researchers ssociation, SAB Merit Award, Outstanding achievement in Agricultural Biotechnology, Elected as a Fellow of the Society of Applied Biotechnology, Qualified the National Eligibility Test, Got Post Doctoral Fellowship of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, Delivered invited talks to different Seminars and Symposiums, DBT Overseas Associate ship Award. He is professional member of Society of Applied Biotechnology and National Academy of Biological Sciences, Founder member of the Genome India International. He is also member of editorial board of number of national and international reputed journals. He has published (62) research articles, (3) books, (8) review articles, and (20) Symposium papers as author/co-author. He has supervised 6 PhD students, 12 MSc students, 5 B.Tech students and 3 PhD students are currently in his supervision.
