Biography

Dr. Abdul Khaliq is currently working as Professor at Department of Agronomy, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. He has completed his PhD in Agronomy from same University. He also spends some time at Research Institute, Faisalabad as Assistant Research Officer, and University of Agriculture, Faisalabad as Lecturer, Assistant Professor and Associate Professor. Dr. Abdul Khaliq received honors include recipient of Research Productivity Allowance (2012) from Pakistan Council for Science & Technology (PSCT), and Got 2nd position in M.Sc. (Hons.) in Department of Agronomy. He has completed 6 research projects as principal investigator and co-investigator. He successfully supervised 4 PhD and 35 MSc students. He is life member of Asian Allelopathy Society, Pakistan Weed Science Society, and member of Pakistan Society of Agronomy, Asia Pacific Weed Science Society, and Society for the Advancement of Agricultural Sciences, Pakistan. He has published 137 Impact factor papers/ Non-impact factor papers in journals as well as 7 proceedings, 70 abstracts in national and international conferences and workshops and 8 books/monographs contributed as author/co-author. His current area of research interest focuses on weed dynamics in different Crop Rotations and Tillage Systems, Manipulation of Allelopathic Crop Residues for the Management of Noxious Weeds, Microbial Transformation during Residue Decomposition, and development of integrated Weed Management systems for different field Crops with major emphasis in direct Seeded Rice.
