Biography

Dr. Othman El Mahdy Sayed Othman is currently working as Professor at of Molecular Genetics and Animal Biotechnology, National Research Center, Dokki, Egypt. He has completed his Ph.D. in Animal Genetics from Cairo University, Egypt. His area of specialization includes Molecular Genetics and Animal Biotechnology. He also worked on 13 national and international research projects as principal investigator and member of research team. He successfully supervised 6 MSc and 2 PhD students. He is associate editor for Journal of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, American Journal of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, International Journal of Dairy Science, Trends in Molecular Sciences, Journal of Biological Sciences, and Journal of Animal and Veterinary Advance Research, Advances in Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, and Journal of Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering. He is also serving as member of Syndicate of Scientific Professions, Egyptian Society of Genetics, Egyptian German Society of Zoology, and Egyptian Society of Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology, and Arab Biologist Association, and American Association for the Advancement of Science. His area of research interest focuses on Genetic Polymorphism of QTL Genes in Farm Animals using different techniques; PCR, RFLP, SSCP and SNPs, Genetic diversity between different Breeds of Farm Animals using different techniques; MtDNA, Microsatellites and RAPD, Gene Mapping in different Farm Animals. He has published 58 research articles in journals contributed as author/co-author.
