Biography

Dr. Nafiu Abdu is currently working as Senior Lecturer at Department of Soil Science, Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria. He obtained his Ph.D. in Agriculture from University of Kassel, Germany in 2010. His area of expertise includes Soil and Environmental Chemistry, Simulation and Movement of Contaminants in Soil and Water, Risk Assessment of Environmental Contamination, Remediation and Restoration of Degraded Lands, Chemistry and Dynamics of Nutrient Elements with Emphasis on Phosphorus in Weathered Tropical Soils. In past he worked as Assistant Lecturer, Lecture, and Senior Lecturer at Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria, Research Assistant, and Postdoctoral Scientist at, OPATS university of Kassel, Germany. Dr. Nafiu received honors includes, Kaduna State Government of Nigeria, Undergraduate Scholarship, Federal Government of Nigeria Postgraduate Scholarship, Volkswagen Foundation, Hanover, Germany, Fellowship for Doctoral Studies, African Credibility Gold Award, The Most Promising Young Scientist for the year 2012/13, Department of Soil Science, Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria. He has published 28 articles in journals, as well as 11 papers in conferences.
