Biography

Anthony Ekpo is a core Statistician. He holds an Ordinary National Diploma in Statistics, a Bachelor of Science degree also in Statistics from the University of Uyo, a Masters of Science degree still in Statistics, specializing in Experimental Designs from the University of Nigeria (UNN), and yet another Masters of Science degree in Statistics, specializing in Bio-statistics, from the University of Ilorin. He is currently at the verge of completing his PhD. program in Statistics.

He currently works as a Lecturer in the department of Statistics of the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi. He has special interest and passion for teaching, research and human development, design and analysis of optimal experiments especially as it pertains to Health, Education, Nutrition Surveillance Systems, WASH Statistics, Poverty and Food security.

Mr. Ekpo is also a Statistical consultant and have been involved in rendering consultancy services, mostly on part time bases, for MSF, USAID, UNHCR and UNICEF funded humanitarian response project, with expertise in conducting Emergency Nutrition Assessments (ENA) using the Standardized Monitoring and Assessment of Relief and Transitions (SMART) methodology, Knowledge, Attitudes and Practice (KAP) surveys using SPSS, Epi-info, Mind View; etc. He also partakes in Database Management and MEAL Consultancy Services .

He is member of the UNICEF-Global Technical Assistance Mechanism (GTAM) for Nutrition and Needs Assessment Consultants, Nigerian Statistical Association (NSA), American Statistical Association (ASA), International Statistical Institute (ISI) and Professional Statisticians Society of Nigeria (PSSN).

His research interest centers around the categorization/classification of experimental designs for Optimality from Combinatorics and Statistical points of view, Response Surface Methodology (RSM) with application in statistical surveillance of malnutrition prevalence based on mid-upper arm circumference, weight-for-height and height-for-age etc.

He has attended and presented papers in several National/International Conferences and have published in many peer-reviewed Journals.
