During 1966-1977, he has worked as Engineer in the Department of Water Resources and Hydraulic Works, in the Ministry of Public Works, Greece. Dr. Christos Tzimopoulos completed his PhD and MSc. in the field of Civil Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1970 and 1962, respectively. He is Member of Technical Chamber of Greece, ex. Member of the International Association For Hydraulic Research, Member of the Greek Hydro technical Society, Member of the Reseau Europeen De Cooperation Scientifique Et Technique Pour La Gestion Des Ressources En Eau, Member of the Greek Society of Irrigation and Drainage, Member of the Greek Institute of Solar Energy, Member of the European Society of Agricultural Engineers, of the European Water Resources Association. Dr. Christos Tzimopoulos has teaching experience including Professer Associe-Ecole Nationale dâHydraulique de Grenoble, I.N.P.-France, Professer Invite - Ecole Nationale dHydraulique de Grenoble, I.N.P.-France, Application of Fin. Elements Method in Ground Water Flow (Post-graduate level course).During 1977-2006 he was Director of the Laboratory of Hydraulic Structures and he covered the Scientific area of Hydrology (surface and subsurface) , Hydrologic simulation, acquisition, transmission, management and processing of digital hydrologic conditions, Groundwater Hydraulics, Water resources management, Optimization of water Supply, Mathematical simulation of aquifers, Hydraulic structures. He is the writer and co writer of over of 250 scientific papers related with water resources, published in Greek and International Scientific Journals as well as in International Congresses. He was the main supervisor in more than 15 PhD thesis concerning water resources.
