Biography

Md. Moshiur Rahman is a professor in Agronomy at Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh, Bangladesh. He was born on 1 January 1963 at Jashore, Bangladesh and achieved his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh, Bangladesh in 1985. He received his masters degree in Agronomy from the same university. Later on he earned his PhD in Seed Technology from Lincoln university, New Zealand. During his long service career he has successfully implemented a number of research projects to find solutions to different crop management problems in Bangladesh. He has developed Dry direct seeded rice based cropping system which enables farmers to grow rice with minimal water input and helps growing crops round the years at minimal costs. He is very much keen in developing sustainable cropping systems which will lead to crop intensification and commercialization.
