Dr. Ghodrat Karami is currently working as Professor and Associate Dean for Research Department of Mechanical Engineering, College of Engineering and Architecture, North Dakota State University (NDSU). He has completed his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College of Science and Technology, University of London, England. Previously he was appointed as Visiting Professor and Alexander von Humboldt fellow at Institute of Technische Mechanik, University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Erlangen, Germany, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor at Shiraz University, Visiting Adjunct Professor at School of Mechanical Engineering, Washington State University, Pullman, WA, and University of Wyoming, Laramie, WY, Professor at Department of Mechanical Engineering, NDSU, He is professional member of American Society for Engineering Education, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Institution of Mechanical Engineers, London, International Society of Boundary Elements, Association of Numerical Methods in Engineering, Iranian Society of Mechanical Engineers, and National Iranian Academy of Sciences. He is member of editorial board and advisory board in International Journal of Modeling and Simulation, ACTA Press, Iranian Journal of Science and Technology, Shiraz University press, Scientia Iranica, Sharif University of Technology press, Asian Journal of Structural Engineering, Amirkabir Journal, Amirkabir University Press, Communication in Boundary Elements Analysis, and Journal of Iranian Society of Mechanical Engineers. He is also serving as reviewer for number of journals. He also completed number of funded research project as principal investigator and co-investigator. He has published 2 books, 2 chapters in books, 153 research articles in peer review journals, 8 research articles in peer reviewed journals, 100 conference proceeding, 32 articles in Persian contributed as author/co-author. He supervised 9 PhD students and 36 MS students.
