Biography

Dr. Martin J. Mike Pasqualetti is currently working as Professor at School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning, Arizona State University. He has completed his PhD University of California, Riverside and M.A from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge. Dr. Martin work blends thirty five years of experience in the academic, administrative, and business sides of the energy industry. One of the recent research projects focused on the energy/water nexus and its particular relevance in arid environments like the Colorado River Basin in North America and the Sultanate of Oman. He is also serving as Chairman of the Governor’s Solar Energy Advisory Council and as a member of the Arizona Solar Center’s Board of Directors. He has played an important role in promoting solar energy development in Arizona, member of Advisory Board in ASU Light Works, Senior Sustainability Scientist at Global Institute of Sustainability, and Core Faculty for the program in Global Technology and Development within CSPO (Consortium for Science, Policy and Outcomes. His area of specialization includes Renewable Energy and Society, Sustainable Energy Futures, Geopolitics of Energy, The Water/Energy Nexus, and Energy Education. Dr. Martin received honors includes lifetime achievement Award from Renewable Energy Task Force, Alliance for Construction, Finalist, ASU Professor of the Year, and Nominee for College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Faculty of the Year. He is professional member of Association of American Geographers, American Geographical Society, Sustainable Energy Network, and World Society of Sustainable Energy Technologies. He is also serving as member of editorial board/reviewer for many journals. He has published 9 books and book chapters, 50 research articles in journals, and 63 presentations contributed as author/co-author. Dr. Martin’s research focuses on Energy Landscapes, Renewable Energy, Social Components of Energy Policy, and Energy Education. Dr. Martin research and instruction have also taken him to several countries including Mexico, China, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Canada, and Palestine, among others.
