Biography

Dr. Wenhui Xiong is currently working as Adjunct Professor at Civil & Geological Engineering, University of Saskatchewan, and Senior Environmental Engineer and Technical Advisor at Stantec Consulting Ltd. He obtained his PhD in Environmental Engineering from same University in 2009. His area of research interest focuses on Fate, Transport, Removal, and Delivery of Nutrients in Surface Subsurface Environment, Phosphorus Wastewater and Water Treatment Process, Lake Eutrophication Remediation, Soil and Groundwater Remediation, Environmental Chemistry (i.e., Surface Chemistry, Aquatic Chemistry, and Geochemistry, Applying Synchrotron X-Ray Absorption Near-Edge Spectroscopy (XANES) to Environmental Chemistry, Eeutrophication Control, and to Wastewater Treatment Mechanisms. Dr. Wenhui Xiong received honor includes, Stantec Award of Excellence, Session Chair and Keynote Speaker, Consulting Engineers of Saskatchewan (CES) Annual Brian Eckel Award of Excellences, University of Saskatchewan Graduate Scholarship, and Clarence R. Forsberg Memorial Scholarship. He has 8 publications in journals as well as 5 conference proceedings. He is expert Reviewer Strategic Project Grants (SPG) Program of Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and also Reviewer of Environmental Science & Technology, Water Research, Desalination and Environmental Technology. He is also working as member of Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS), Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists, and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA), and large member of Saskatoon Geotechnical Group.
