Biography

Dr. Mahfouz M. M. Abd-Elgawad holds a position of Professor at National Research Center Egypt. He has completed his Ph.D. in Linkage Program between University of Florida (USA) and University of Cairo (Egypt) in 1986. Previously he was appointed as Research Nematologist at the National Program for Improving Citrus Production in Egypt, FAO Consultant to Kingdom of Saudia Arabia. Biocontrol of Red Palm Weevil, Permanent member of Scientific Committee for NRC Staff Promotion in Diseases, Pests and Plant Protection. He was received National Research Center Prize for scientific research in Agriculture. He is member of Egyptian Society of Agronematology, Egyptian Society of Zoology, Agricultural Syndicate, Afro-Asian Society of Nematology, and National Committee for Biological Sciences. During his career, he supervised the research work of 6 post-graduates (3 for M. Sc. and 3 for Ph. D.), and published some 150 research papers, many of them published in refereed international journals. Recently, he co-authored three chapters in a book published by CABI, UK in 2015. He has completed number of national and international research projects.
