Prof. Dr. Ahmad M. Azab is currently Professor of Fish Ecology and Biology at Al-Azhar University. He has extensive experience with Animal Museum, the Red Sea fish taxonomy (ordinary and molecular biology), fish biology and fisheries for more 36 years. He participated in many field trips, expeditions and consultive works to the marine environment of the Red Sea.
At Al-Azhar University in Egypt and Thamar University in Yemen He Established the Zoological Museum and he teaches many courses like: Marine Biology, Ichthyology, Fish Biology and Taxonomy, Fish culture, Marine Fisheries, Stock Assessment, Marine Fauna, Marine Plankton and Benthos, Marine ecology, Marine pollution, General and medical Biology, Histology, Cell Biology, Embryology, Vertebrates, Comparative Anatomy, Invertebrates, Parasitology, and Ecology. Also, he supervised and refereid more than one hundred theises; and he had more than sixty research published papers.
He serves as technical member of several national committees, conducts research on the Red Sea biodiversity, marine ecology, aquaculture, assessment of mangrove resources, coral reefs and other habitats (in Egypt and Yemen).
