Biography

Dr. Ahmad AlSayed Mohamad Omar is currently working as Associate Professor at Plant Genetics Improvement, Department of Horticulture Sciences, University of Florida, Citrus research and Education Center, Lake Alfred, Florida, USA. He has completed his PhD in Horticulture, and Post-Doctoral Research Associate from same University. Previously he was appointed as Chemist and Researcher, and Assistant Professor at Plant Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Biochemistry Department, College of Agriculture, Zagazig University, Zagazig, Egypt. He is professional member of The Society for In Vitro Biology, American Society of Horticultural Science, International Society of Citroculture, and International Society for Horticultural Science, Florida State Horticultural Society, American Society of Plant Biologist, and The Egyptian Society of Agriculture Biochemistry. Dr. Ahmad received honors includes Recipient of the Distinguished Scholar Award of the Arab Fund Fellowship Program, The SIVB Student Award for the best student paper presented at the In Vitro Biology Meeting, Ministry of Higher Education, Egypt, Ph.D. Scholarship, and Zagazig University Highest Distinction Awards for achieving the highest standing in the undergraduate program in the College of Agriculture. He is also serving as member of editorial board and reviewer for journals such as American Journal of Plant Physiology, Biotechnology, Asian Journal of Plant Sciences, Asian Journal of Biochemistry, American Journal of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Biotechnology Progress, International journal of Agricultural and Food Research, International Journal of Molecular Sciences, Molecular Biology Reports, Plant Cell, Tissue and Organ Culture and HortScience. He has 22 publications in journals as author/co-author.
