Biography

Prof. Atef Mohamed Kamel Ahmed is currently working as Professor and Head at Suez Canal University, Ismailia, Egypt. He has completed his Ph.D. in Environmental Conservation from University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA, Post-graduate Diploma from Universita Deglis Studis di Sassar, Italy, and Post-graduate Diploma, Research in Institute of Wildlife and Zoo Med. Berlin, Germany. His main area of interest focuses on Climate Change Adaptation & Mitigation and Risk Management. He also served as Visiting Scientist at and Researcher at National Wildlife Health Research Center (NWHRC) Madison, Wisconsin, USA. He also attended Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC)7th International Training Course on Climate Risk Management in a Changing Environment to be held in Bangkok, Thailand. His area of expertise includes Wildlife Ecology & Conservation, Climate change, Biodiversity, Protected areas, Wildlife Diseases, Environmental management, Risk assessment & Mgt, Environmental impact assessment (EIA), Gender equality, Women Empowerment, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Environmental pollution, Zoo Management, Ecotourism, Capacity building, Strategic Impact Assessment (SIA), Terrestrial & Aquatic Species, Birds, Wetland Ecology, Endangered Species, CITES Species, Captive breeding, Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E), Sustainable Development, Biosphere Reserves, and Biosafety.
