Biography

Rita M. Sunday is a Researcher at National Biotechnology Development Agency, Abuja, Nigeria. Dr. R. M. Sunday has over 22 Scientific papers published and presented at both local and international conferences. She is an Internationally recognized expert in many areas of advanced pharmacology including Ethno-pharmacology, Toxicology, medicinal plants, diabetes, drug discovery and development. Dr. R. M. Sunday is currently carrying out research on antidiabetic and antioxidant effect of medicinal plants using both in vivo and in vitro models. Her recent publication is an article titled Anti-diabetic Effect of Asparagus adscendens on RIN-5F cells, HepG2 cells and Wistar rats. Dr. R. M. Sunday is a Member of the West African Society of Pharmacology, Nigerian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Biotechnology Society of Nigeria. She has been investigating the anti-diabetic, anti-oxidant and potential Toxicological Effect of Medicinal plants. She holds a B.Sc.in Biochemistry from University of Jos Nigeria, M.Sc. and Ph.D. Pharmacology from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. She also did her Posdoctorate research in the area of plant Biotechnology.
