Biography

Dr. Jacob O. Popoola is a Lecturer in the Department of Biological Sciences of Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria. Dr. Popoola has over 30 scientific papers either published or presented in conferences/seminars/workshop. His professional experience cut across Ethnobotany, plant genetics, genetic resources characterization, application of molecular biology tools in genetic diversity studies,cytology/karyogamy characterization, plant collection, identification and taxonomy. Dr. Popoola is versatile in field work, experimental layout, data collection and analysis and interested in indigenous African underutilized species. He is sociable, cool, team player and open to effective collaborative scientific projects. Among his favorite projects include, characterization of underutilized legumes, root and tubers toward food security in Africa.
