Biography

Dr. Sanusi Hassan Wara is currently working as Professor in Department of Biochemistry, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Nigeria. He obtained his PhD, MSc in Biochemistry in 2006 & 1997 respectively. His area of specialization includes Pharmacology and Toxicology/ Risk Assessment Profiles of Locally Used Medicinal Plants. His teaching interest includes Nutritional and Food Biochemistry, Pharmacological Biochemistry and Toxicology, Chemistry of Nucleic acids and Amino acids, Metabolism of Nucleic acids and porphyrins, Metabolism and catabolism of Amino acids, General Biochemical Methods, Industrial Biochemistry and Biostatistics. His research interests are related to Pharmacology and Toxicology/Risk assessment profiles of locally used medicinal plants. He is member of Nigerian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Nigerian Society for Experimental Biology. He is also Staff Advisor and Adviser to Education committee and Facilitator, for the training of UNICEF-Infant and Young Child Feeding. Dr. Sanusi Hassan received number of honors include One of the best selected M.Sc. Thesis for the year 1997, Best selected Ph.D. Thesis, Postdoctoral fellowship Research award, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Research Development award. He is also serving as reviewer and board member of six journals. He supervised 25 Postgraduate, 86 Undergraduate students projects in fields of Pharmacology and Toxicology. He has published 74 research articles in journals as author/co-author. He also attended number of conferences.
