Biography

Abebe Shiferaw (Ph.D in Geography and Sustainable Development, University of Bern, Switzerland). The dissertation work focused on soil based ecosystem services and carbon sequestration. He has an M.Sc degree from Zhejiang Agricultural University China and his research focused on effect of land use on soil physical, biological and chemical properties. His research at undergraduate level focused on soil erodibility for a B.Sc study from Asmara University (Eritrea). He also has a specialized certificate in Sustainable Development (IGS North- South, Switzerland).

He started his carrier as academic staff in Ethiopian Agricultural Universities/Colleges and later worked with World Vision Ethiopia, International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) and Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Agency(ATA ) and USAID-Ethiopia. He has also consulting experience with WABEKBON Devt consultants and Environment Forest Coffee Forum in Ethiopia.
