Mr. Shiferaw was received his first degree in Biology in 2005 and second degree in Applied Genetics in 2015 from Dilla University and Addis Ababa University, respectively. Since 2005, he has been working as a teacher and laboratory technician at preparatory school, Addis Ababa and since September 2015 as a lecturer and researcher at Wolkite University. He has been delivering various courses of Biology such as molecular biology, principles of genetics, cell biology, evolution, Fundamental Biotechnology and Biochemistry. He has participated and benefited from core training such as ‘Basic Bioinformatics, Techniques in Molecular Biology And LAMP’ organized by Ethiopian Biotechnology Institute and Institute of Biotechnology, Addis Ababa University; in collaboration with University of Calgary, Canada, training on “Design And Analysis of Experiments, Publication of Papers on Scientific Journals” delivered by Prof. Tessema Astatkie, Dalhousie University, Canada and training on “Academic Program Quality Audit” organized by Wolkite University in 2016. He has been actively involved in various extracurricular activities like community service at Wolkite University and prepared “Self-Document Evaluation” of Biology department, Wolkite University. Currently, he is serving as Head of Department of Biology, Wolkite University. He also published 9 research outcomes on different reputable journals, promoted to Assistant professor in applied genetics and reviewed manuscripts for African Journal of Biotechnology.
