Biography

Kassa Tarekegn Erekalo is currently working as a Full-time Researcher of Agricultural Economics Researches at Southern Agricultural Research Institute (SARI), Ethiopia. He has obtained BSc. degree in Agricultural Resource Economics and Management from Hawssa University, Ethiopia. He completed his MSc. degree in Agricultural Economics from Haramaya University, Ethiopia. He has served as Head of the Socio-economics Researches at Bonga center of Southern Agricultural Research Institute. He has served as a member and chairman of different committees at center level for Arab Minch and Bonga Centers. He also engages in activities related to climate, environmental action and social change through sharing scientifically reliable knowledge, planting trees and social campaigns with local communities. He has successfully implemented different research projects on Agricultural Technology Adoption, Impact Evaluations of Different Agricultural Technologies, Value Chain Analysis, Production Efficiency of Crops, Market Participation and Commercialization of Different Crops and Livestock, Climate change Adaptation Strategies, Farm Households Food Security Analysis and Farming System Characterizations. He has published his research findings in peer-reviewed international journals and participated in several conferences. He is a member of the Ethiopian Economic Association (EEA) and the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI). He is also a peer reviewer at different international journals.
