Dr. George Ouma is currently working as Professor at Bondo University College, Kenya. He obtained his PhD in Horticulture from Mississippi State University USA, MSc in Agronomy from University of Nairobi. In past he worked as Research Officer in Kenya Agriculture Research Institute, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Associate Professor at Maseno University and Bondo University College. His research activities include Effect of leaf defoliation on the yield of apple trees, the effect of N, P. K. fertilization on the yield of plums apples and pears, the effect of different propagation techniques on the yield and growth of apples, plums and pears, the effect of different levels of N, P. K. fertilization on the yield of onion, kales, tomatoes, cabbages, the effect of different weed control methods on the yield of onions, tomatoes and the brassicas, the different pruning methods on the yield of apples, pears peaches and plums, factors affecting seed production of various exotic vegetables. He is member of following different societies, International Society for Horticultural Science, Federation of Plant Physiology Society, International Dwarf tree Association, American Society for Horticultural Science, Citriculture Society, of Canadian Society for Horticultural Science, Horticultural Association of Kenya, Australian Society for Horticultural Science. He has published 136 research articles in journals as author/co-author. He is also serving as reviewer and editorial member in many national and international journals. He also attended number of workshops and conferences. Dr .George Ouma received honors include Best student in Academic work, Best Physics Student, M.Sc Scholarship-DAAD-University of Nairobi, Ph.D Scholarship, Sustainable Agriculture Award. He supervised 26 undergraduate students 10 BSc students, 16 MSc students, 1 PhD student, 2 MSc and 1 PhD student currently in his supervision.
