Dr. Faisal H. Issa is at present a senior lecturer in management and leadership at Mzumbe University. He has accumulated through practical work experience, research and training, leadership capabilities and the right adaptive capacity for managing diverse tasks and responsibilities at all levels of management at central, local government and institutional level. He adequately complements his theoretical understanding of development management, governance, strategy, policy, human resource management, corporate planning, coordination and evaluation of projects, by practical work experiences in coordination and following up on performance. His academic and research capacity is augmented by an in-depth understanding of issues at policy development, implementation and on the dimensions of gender and sustainable development. He has held different responsibilities at different levels in different institutions: Chairperson of Public Management Subject Panel at the previous Institute of Development Management (IDM); Head of Department Mzumbe University, Director in the President‘s Office Public Service Management and Regional Administrative Secretary in Regional Administration. He has also served as a member of the Master-Workers Council of the Public Service. He currently serves in the governing boards of two institutions one public and one a trustee organization of national stature: Information and Communication Technologies Commission and Mwanamke Initiatives Foundation. He has previously served in different years as a member of the governing boards: Founding Board member Benjamin William Mkapa (Former Tanzania President) Foundation for HIV/AIDS; Tanzania Public Service College; Institute of Rural Development; Local government Training Institute; Tanzania institute of Education.
