Dr. Anastasios I. Zouboulis is currently working as Elected Professor of Chemical & Environmental Technology, Department of Chemistry, A.U.Th. He obtained his Ph.D. in Chemical Technology from same University. He is author/co-author of several articles in refereed journals (more than 180, whereas more than 160 of them are belonging to the SCI lists) and review chapters in books (15), oral and poster presentations in several international and local conferences/ seminars/ symposia (totally over 200). He is member of the Scientific or Organizing Committee of more than 30 national and international Conferences, Session Chairman or Moderator in several of them (20), Invited Lecturer (or Keynote Speaker) in more than 20 national or international conferences/ symposia, and President of the Organizing Committee of 6 national & international conferences. He also participated in more than 60 National and European R & D Projects, dealing with Water or Wastewater Treatment, Hazardous Solid Waste Management and Biotechnological Applications. He supervised 12 PhD and 15 MSc and more than 50 Diploma Thesis of Chemistry students. He also invited external examiner for 18 Ph.D. Thesis. He is also Instructor in several seminars for continuing education about Environmental Science and Technology. Dr. Anastasios also Invited Visitor and Lecturer for small time periods (few weeks), in a number of other Universities. He is also serving as Guest Editor for special issues of scientific journals and reviews more than 200 national and international conferences and also referee in many journals. His current educational duties and research interests are related with the Application of Chemical and Environmental Bio/Technology and more specifically, with the Inter-Disciplinary Separation Science and related Technologies: Recovery/ Removal of Metals from Liquid Waste Streams; Physico-Chemical methods Applied for the Treatment of Contaminated Water Sources or of Wastewaters, such as Filtration, Coagulation, Flotation, Adsorption, Membrane Separation, Oxidation etc.; Biological (aerobic or anaerobic) Treatment Methods, or Appropriate Combinations of Biological and Physico Chemical Method, such as Biosorption or Constructed Wetlands. He is member of many scientific societies such as Greek Chemical Society, Mediterranean Scientific Association for Environmental Protection (MESAEP), Global-Nest (Inter. Network for Environmental Protection), Green Chemistry Greek Network, European and Mediterranean Association for Environmental Education, Assessment and Protection (ENEAP).
