Biography

Dr. Maria Helena Marques Enes Guimaraes obtained her Ph.D. in Natural Resources Management from University of Azores, Portugal. Her area of research interest focuses on Territory and Landscape Studies, Participatory Approaches, Integrative Modelling, Systems Thinking/ Social-Ecological Systems, Governance, Transdisciplinarity, Environmental and Ecological Economics, Regional Science, and Sustainability. Currently she is working as Postdoctoral Researcher. Previously she was appointed as Research Assistant at Center of Marine Sciences of Algarve, Algarve University, Research Assistant at Sustainable Regional Development Office, Azores University, and at Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ), Oostende, Belgium, and Post-Doc grant in FarmPath at Evora University. She has published 12 articles in professional journals, has 2 chapters of published books and 7 conference proceedings. She was received 4 awards. She also participated in 6 research projects. She also participated in number of conference and performed many presentations. She is also serving as reviewer for Ocean and Coastal Management, Journal of Ecosystem Services and Estuarine, Coastal and Shelf Science journals.
