Biography

Dr. Jorge Manuel Calico Lopes de Brito is currently working as Professor at Instituto Superior Tecnico, Portugal and Head of the research center. He has completed his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from same Institute. He has participated in 17 research programs (4 international), three of which as Principal investigator concerning the use of recycled aggregates in concrete. He has supervised 6 Post-doc researchers, 26 PhD students, 126 Masters students, and 35 Undergraduate students He has published 2 books, 20 book chapters (3 national and 17 international), 10 book editions, 3 theses, 2 patents 528 papers in journals (235 national and 293 international), 427 reports (161 of technical-scientific dissemination 266 of institutional consultancy), 418 congress papers (256 national and 162 international), 119 teaching texts, and 33 texts from post-graduation contributed as author/co-author. His area of scientific research interest focuses on Sustainable Construction (recycled aggregates in concrete and mortars) Bridge and Building Management Systems Buildings service life (Prediction) Construction Technology.
