Biography

Xhavit Ramadani was born on August 23th, 1965 in Pristina, Republic of Kosovo. He studied at the Faculty of Agriculture in Prishtina, University of Prishtina and graduated in 1990. Just after his studies until 1993 he worked at the Agricultural High School ”Zenel Hajdini” in Ferizaj, Kosovo. In 2001 he enrolled in postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Agriculture in Sarajevo – study program ”Technology of animal products”. His master thesis, titled ”The quality of milk in Kosovo region and changes after thermal treatment” defended in 2004. In 2006 enrolled his doctoral studies at the Agricultural University in Tirana - Faculty of Biotechnology and Food. The subject of the doctoral thesis titled ”The study of chemical and technological parameters of autochthonous sheep milk of Sharri area and properties of cheese during the lactation period” defended in 2009. From 1993/94 until 2010, he was employed in Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary as an assistant for a group of subjects in Food Technology. In 2010 he was elected as Assistant Professor for the subjects: Processing of animal products (Bsc in department of Biotechnology in Zootechny), Hygiene and technology of milk and milk Products (in department of Veterinary), Milk Processing, Meat Processing (Msc in in department of Biotechnology in Zootechny), and Fruit processing (Bsc in in department Fruit and viticulture) at the same Faculty. In the academic year 2011/12 he has taught at the University of Tetovo - Faculty of Food Technology and Nutrition, and during the years 2012-2015 at the University of Mitrovica - Faculty of Geosciences and Technology. Currently, he is the head of the department of Food Technology and Biotechnology in Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary, University of Prishtina. Dr. sc. Xhavit Ramadani has made a considerable professional and scientific contribution in the framework of the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary joint activities with different governmental and non-governmental organizations operating in Kosovo. So far, as the author/co-author he has presented/published around 40 scientific papers by taking part in the most important scientific meetings in the field of Food Technology.
