Biography

Dr. Guido Ventura is currently working as Senior Researcher at National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, Roma, Italy. He has completed his Ph.D. in Tectonics and Structural Geology from University Consortium Catania, Italy. He has been Assistant Professor in Structural Geology and Tectonics, Invited Speaker at international meetings and courses, convener or part of the organizing committee of conferences. Dr. Ventura is author or co-author of about 106 papers in international scientific journals and books, other 10 papers on national scientific journals, divulgative articles, scientific websites, and papers for students. He has given over 70 talks at conferences and workshops. He has collaborated with and been the coordinator of national and international research projects financed by the Italian Civil Protection, CNR, MIUR, Regional agencies, UNESCO, EU, and CAS. He is or has been member of the editorial board of the scientific journals Encyclopedia of Earth, Scientific Reports, International Journal of Earth & Environmental Sciences, AIMS Geoscience, and The Scientific World Journal. He is member of American Geophysical Union, Geological Society of America, and European Geosciences Union. Dr. Venturas research interests focus on several fields of Earth Science including Volcanology, Geomorphology, Structural Geology and Tectonics, Seismology and Seismotectonics, Remote Sensing, Archaeometry, Geochemistry of Magmas and Fluids, Exploration Geophysics, Petrology of Igneous Rocks, Geodynamics.
