Biography
Dr. Mara Thiene holds a position of Associate Professor University of Padova Italy, Deputy VC for international relations with Australia and New Zealand, and Visiting Professor (affiliation) at Institute for Choice, University of South Australia, Sydney, Australia. She obtained her Ph.D. in Land Economics and Appraisal from University of Padua, Italy. Her area of research interest focuses on Environmental Economics, Resource Economics, Discrete-Choice Modelling, Non-Market Valuation, Forest Economics, Rural Economics, Agro-Food Economics, and Energy Economics. She successfully completed number of research projects funded by different agencies. She is also serving as reviewer for number of journals. She is member of European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE), Association of Environmental and Resource Ecomists (AERE), European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE), International Conference of Agricultural Economists (IAAE), Australian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society (AARES), Societa Italiana di Economia Agraria (SIDEA), and Centro Studi Estimativi e Territoriali (CeSET). Dr. Mara Thiene has received a awards domestically including the 2013 EAERE Award for Outstanding Publication in the Journal Environmental and Resource Economics (ERE), Exploration of a new choice model for environmental and resource economics, Environmental and Resource Economics, and Paper shortlisted within five excellent papers. She has published 97 research articles in journals, chapters in books and proceeding contributed as author/co-author.
