Biography
Dr. Hector Valdes Morales is currently working as Associate Professor in the College of Engineering Catholic University of Concepcion. He obtained his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from same University. His research concerns the development of new processes for Water and Wastewater Treatment, and Industrial Emission Control. He focused on advanced Oxidation processes for Water Recycling, Wastewater Treatment and Industrial Emission Control. At the present, he is the Director of the Laboratory of Clean Technologies. In past he worked as Project Engineer and Lecturer in the Chemical Engineering Department at Central University of Las Villas, Cuba, Lecturer at University of Bio, Chillan, Chile, Postdoctoral Research Associate at Technical University of Clausthal, Germany, Environmental Consultant at University of Concepcion. Concepcion, Chile, Invited Professor at Universite de Toulouse, France, Universite Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah Fez Morocco, and Universidad de Concepcion, Chile. He has published 28 articles in journals, 1 book chapter, and 31 proceedings, 1 patent contributed as author/co-author. He also attended number of conferences. He supervised 1 PhD students. He is also serving as referee in number of journals. He is also member of Representative of Academics at the Council Board of the Universidad Catolica de la Santisima Concepcion. He is professional member of International Water Association, and Chilean National Association of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering. He was received Scholarship award by the Flemish Government, DAAD Postdoctoral Award, Best Platform Presentation at IWA Young Researchers Conference, and PhD scholarship awarded by the Chemical Engineering Department, University of Concepcion.
