Biography

Dr. Roberto Meigikos dos Anjos is currently working as Associated Professor (Reader) at Physics Institute, Federal Fluminense University (UFF), Brazil, He is also Coordinator of the Laboratory of Radioecology and Environmental Change (LARA) and Leader of the Applied Nuclear Physics on Environmental Studies research group at UFF. Dr. R.M. Anjos has experience in Nuclear Physics, focusing on Heavy Ion-Induced Nuclear Reaction Products and Applied Nuclear Physics in the Life and Environmental Sciences. He is supervisor/advisor of post-docs, PhD and master candidates, undergraduate students, research staff and outside visitors. His research focus is Radioecology (using fallout radionuclides and compound-specific stable isotopes techniques as tracers of environmental process); Radiocarbon dating by Accelerator Mass Spectrometry – AMS (paleoclimatic, palaeoenvironmental, and geophysical studies) and Modern Climate Change and Variability. Additionally, he is looking for the strengthening soil and water conservation strategies at landscape level for sustainable food production in Latin America and Caribbean, and assessing the impact of climate change and its effects on soil and water resources on polar and mountainous regions, both using innovative stable and radio isotopes and related techniques. These projects are being supported by the IAEA (ARCAL and INT programs, respectively). He is also serving as referee in number of journals. He has published 58 scientific papers in journals as well as 2 chapters in book contributed as author/co-author.
