Biography

Dr. Richard J. Culas is currently working as Lecturer in Agricultural Economics / Agribusiness at Charles Sturt University (CSU) He obtained his PhD in Economics from University of Sydney, Sydney, Australia in 2004. In past he worked as Tutor/ Agriculture Assistant/ Research Assistant/ Consultant/ Associate Lecturer/ and Lecturer at different institutions. His area of research interest/experience focused on Causes of Deforestation and REDD+ policies (relating to UN REDD Programme: Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation), Policy analysis for improving Agricultural Productivity, farmers income, food security, and poverty reduction, Economics of water resources management, Agricultural income diversification and alternative land uses. He supervised 5 PhD and 3 Masters Students, 2 PhD/Master students currently in his supervision. He is also serving as reviewer of many papers. He is also Associate Editor in journals. He is professional member of Australian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society (AARES), Researchers in Agriculture for International Development (RAID), Environmental Decision Group Network. He has published 1(4) articles in referred journals, (2) books, (10) chapters in books, (8) papers in referred conferences and (9) papers in non referred conferences contributed as author/co-author.
