Biography

I am a herpetologist and a Research Scientist at the Research Center for Climate Change - University of Indonesia. My main research interests are the processes of speciation, biogeography, and systematics of South & Southeast Asian herpetofauna (Reptiles & Amphibians), the effects of rain forest fragmentation in shaping regional herpetofaunal diversity, the Human-Crocodile Conflict (HCC) in Sri Lanka - Sumatra - Kalimantan (Borneo) and mitigation, and the climate change impact on high altitude amphibians and reptiles in the Great Sunda Islands. Most of my research works are conducted in Sri Lanka, South India, Andaman / Nicobar and Indonesian Archipelago. I am the Co-editor-in-chief of TAPROBANICA the Journal of Asian Biodiversity (ISSN: 1800-427X), also the Associate editor of Amphibia-Reptilia Journal (ISSN: 0173-5373). I also serve as a commission member for several specialist groups in IUCN Species Survival Commission.
