My name is Masatoshi Shoji. I am from Japan. I am a licensed acupuncturist, language instructor, and medical translator. I have earned a BA in English Linguistics from Yamagata University, an MA in Education from Carthage College, an MA in Applied Linguistics from the University of Birmingham, and a Ph.D. in Dental Science from Tohoku University. My dissertation in Applied Linguistics received a Pass with Merit. In addition, I studied acupuncture at an acupuncture vocational school and have an Integrative Health & Lifestyle Program Certificate at the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine of the University of Arizona.
Currently, I have been enrolled in the University of California, San Diego, Extended Studies Course to be a medical writer. My research interests are health communication, acupuncture, tea, end-of-life, grief, and bereavement.
