Dr. Xue Bing, born in Jan 1982, received the PhD degree from Lanzhou University of China in June 2009, and is now serving as an Associate Professor in Industrial Ecology and Sustainability at the Institute of Applied Ecology (IAE) at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and the Principal Investigator (Head) of Research Center for Industrial Ecology & Sustainability at IAE/CAS. He is also a Research Fellow at the Institute of Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS) Potsdam, Germany, supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. His research interests mainly focus on the interactions of the Human-Environmental System and Climate Change Governance, based on the Techniques of Urban & Environmental Computing, by Employing the Trans-and Inter-Disciplinary Approaches. He has published more than 90 peer-reviewed papers in renewed journals such as Nature-Climate Change, Renewable & Sustainable Energy Reviews, Ecological Indicators, etc. In 2011, he received the Green Talent Award from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Science (BMBF). He is voluntary serving in varies organizations and scientific communities, such as reviewers for international journals, consulting experts in Chinese local governments and council member of the Ecological Development Union International.
