Dr. Shicheng Zhang is a Professor and a Vice Chair in the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering at Fudan University, Shanghai, China. He received his Ph.D. from Northeastern University, China in 2001, respectively. After that, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Peking University and Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. In 2005 he joined the faculty of Environmental Engineering at Fudan University as an Associate Professor. From 2007 to 2008, Dr. Zhang worked at Iowa State University as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. During that time, he was invited to visit several Universities in USA, such as NCSU, OSU, PU, and UIUC. In 2010, he attended the Top Brazil program for new energy and sustainable development and visited 5 Universities in Brazil. After 2011, he served as Vice Chair for the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering at Fudan University. Dr. Zhang’s current research focuses on Biomass Wastes Utilization and Environmental Catalysis. Till now, he has been involved in more than 20 research projects as Chief Investigator or Partner Investigator/Associate Investigator. He has published 70+ journal papers, 10+ patents, and has 1000+ ISI citations. He has received several awards for his outstanding scholarly achievements. In 2011, he got the 2nd Prize of Shanghai Natural Science Award. Dr. Zhang currently is the membership of several societies, such as American Chemical Society (ACS), American Institute of Chemical Engineering (AIChE), Chinese Chemical Society (CCS), China Energy Society (CES), Chinese Bioenergy Association (CBA), and Shanghai Society of Environmental Science (SSES). He has been invited to evaluate a number of PhD and Masters’ theses and review the papers from a number of international journals (more than 40 journals) such as Environmental Science and Technology, Energy & Fuels, Fuel, Carbon, Bioresource Technology, Applied Energy, Energy Conversion & Management, Environmental Progress & Sustainable Energy, Chemosphere, Chemical Engineering Journal, Journal of Biobased Materials and Bioenergy, Journal of Solid State Chemistry, and so on.
