Biography

Dr. A. K. M. Akther Hossain is currently working as Professor of Physics at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh. He has completed his PhD in Experimental Solid State Physics form Imperial College, The University of London, UK in 1998. In past he worked as Lecturer/Assistant Professorand Associate Professor at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, and Lecturer at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. He is member of following scientific societies, Bangladesh Physical Society, Bangladesh Association for Advancement of Science, American Physical Society, and Japan Society of Applied Physics. He is also serving as reviewer in number of national and international journals. Dr. A. K. M. Akther received honors includes, JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship award by the Japan Society of Promotion of Sciences, Commonwealth Scholarship award by the Association of the Commonwealth Universities, London, United Kingdom, KOSEF Postdoctoral Fellowship, Korea Science & Engineering Foundation, Nominated for National Science & Technology Award 1999 from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology. He also supervised 6 under graduate students 16 MSc, 32 M. Phil and 3 PhD students. At present 07 Ph. D and 05 M. Phil. students are working under his supervision. He has published (1) book, (65) papers in referred journals, (37) articles in peer reviewed national/international proceedings, (51) abstracts in national and international conferences.
