Biography

Professor Dr. M. H. Faruquee is a public health expert in the country, having around 27 years of experience in occupational and environmental health safety, nutrition, health promotion, disability health care services, and community and local government institutional development. Currently, he is attached as Professor & Head, Department of Occupational and Environmental Health, Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS). He has 16 years (at university level, 14 years) teaching experience at university level. He is one of the contributors of a number of research projects in the field of public health. Some of the studies and research have been published in foreign (45) and national (72) professional journals and Books (03). He contributed to the development of a good number of training and communication modules, manuals, and materials on occupational and environmental health, nutrition, and maternal and child health-related issues organized by different international and national level organizations. He worked in a number of projects as a Consultant. Professor Faruquee conducted some survey, researches and evaluation studies with WHO, UNICEF, UNDP, Asian Development Bank, World Bank, DANIDA, DFID, JICA, WaterAid, World Vision and GIZ., namely. He also worked as Senior Occupational Safety and Health Specialist, Padma Multipurpose Bridge Construction Project, Bangladesh Bridge Authority (BBA).
