Biography

Dr. Md. Mokter Hossain holds a position of Professor, Department of Horticulture, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh. He has completed Ph.D. in Plant Physiology from Ehime University, Japan, and Post Doctorate from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Hong Kong. His main area of research interest focuses on plant water relations and Stress physiology of horticultural crops, analysis of abiotic stress tolerance (drought, nutrient & salt stress) of high value horticultural crops, postharvest physiology of horticultural crops (especially fruits and vegetable, hydroponic culture or soilless culture system of high value horticultural crops. He has completed 20 research projects as principal investigator and co-investigator. He is a life member of International Society for minor fruits, medicinal and aromatic plants, Japanese University Alumni Association of Bangladesh (JUAAB), Fruit Science Society of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Society for Agricultural Science and Technology, Krishibid Institution of Bangladesh (KIB), Seed Science Society of Bangladesh (SSSB), and member of International Society for Horticultural Science, Japanese Society for Horticultural Science, and Bangladesh Society for Horticultural Science. He is also serving as executive editor for Journal of Fruit Science and Technology, associate editor for ARPN Journal of Agricultural and Biological Science, and reviewer for Australian Journal of Crop Science, and International Journal of Agricultural Research Innovation and Technology (IJPRIT). Dr. Mokter has published 63 research articles in journals contributed as main author/co-author.
