Biography

Md. Simul Bhuyan, working as a research co-investigator with Abu Sayeed Muhammad Sharif, senior scientific officer, Bangladesh Oceanographic Research Institute (BORI), Ramu, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. My current research project entitled “Potential Nutritional Evaluation of 20 seaweeds, experimental extraction of phycocolloids from 3 seaweeds available around St. Martin’s island and continuation of taxonomic baseline study”. A book will be published on “Seaweed Taxonomy and Identification” very soon. A genetic study of seaweed will be carried out. Another book will be published on “The glossary of Seaweed“.

He has two published books titled “Effects of Industrialization on Fish and Fishing community” and “Heavy Metals Profile in River” both from Germany. He is working on “Heavy metals contamination of seaweed: A global review” and writing of “Pictorial Dictionary of Oceanography”. These books will be published by 2020.

His main area of expertise is in Marine Pollution, Maritime law, Environmental Science & monitoring, Marine Biology, Marine Ecology, and Fisheries Science. He uses observational data and various software to monitoring and assessment of water quality and heavy metals in rivers and ocean. His research interests are in the application of software to monitor the hydrology and movement of metals.
