Biography

Prof. Mahmood Hossain was born on 22th August 1972, in Bagerhat District, Bangladesh. He passed Secondary School Certificate Examination in 1987 from Bagerhat Govt. High School and Higher Secondary Certificate Examination in 1989 from Bagerhat Govt. P. C. College. He pursued 4 (four) years B.Sc. (Hons.) in Forestry from Institute of Forestry and Environmental Science, University of Chittagong, Bangladesh in 1995. He received Master of Science in the field of Mangrove Ecology from University Putra Malaysia in 1998. He joined at Department of Forest, Bangladesh as an Assistant Conservator of Forest in 1997. In January 1999, he has been appointed as Lecturer in Forestry and Wood Technology Discipline, Khulna University, Bangladesh. He completed Doctor of Philosophy in the field of Mangrove Ecology at the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science University Putra Malaysia. Now he is doing research on ecology of mangroves and nutrient dynamics in different forest types of Bangladesh.
