Biography

Md. Mukul Mia (D/B: 19-05-1991; Gaibandha; 25°30'32.1"N 89°28'38.7"E), Scientific Officer, Breeding Division, Bangladesh Jute Research Institute, Ministry of Agriculture, Dhaka-1207, Bangladesh is working on Breeding of Jute (Corchorus spp. L.) and Allied Fiber Crops (Hibischus spp) to develop stress tolerant high yielding varieties since 19 January, 2017. He is expert on Breeding of Jute, Rice, Fruits, Oil and Vegetable Crops. He has awarded B.Sc.Agril.Honours (2012) and MS on Genetics and Plant Breeding (2014) from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh-2202. He has been awarded National Science Technology Fellowship from the Govt. of Bangladesh for his valuable research on Food & Agriculture. He has been selected for “Young Scientist Award” by the Agricultural & Environmental Technology Development Society (AETDS), U.S. Nagar, Uttarakhand, India for his good research work presentation on COVID-19 in the International Web Conference: Perspective on Agricultural and Applied Sciences in COVID-19 Scenario (PAAS-2020). He also worked as Scientific Officer (Transformed Rice Breeding), Breeding Division, Bangladesh Rice Research Institute, collaborated by International Rice Research Institute, Philippines.
