Biography

Dr. Mohammad Zabed Hossain is currently working as Professor at Department of Botany, University of Dhaka, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has completed his Ph.D. in Agricultural Science from Iwate University, Japan. He also appointed as Research Officer at Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies, Dhaka, Bangladesh, Researcher at Research and Evaluation Division, BRAC, Dhaka, Bangladesh, Lecturer and Assistant Professor at University of Dhaka, Dhaka. He is also supervising number of MSc and PhD students. His main area of research interest focuses on rhizosphere ecology, plant-microbe interactions, legume-rhizobia interactions in relation to arsenic toxicity and salinity, and ecosystem ecology. He has published 30 research articles in journals. Dr. Mohammad Zabed received honors includes Guest Scholarship Program of Swedish Institute, Monbukagakusho (Monbusho) Scholarship of the Government of Japan for Ph. D. program in Japan, Delta Study Centre Fellowship, Dhaka University at M.Sc. level, and Dhaka University Merit Scholarship. He also attended number of conference, seminar and courses. He also received many grants for his research work. He is member of editorial board and reviewer for journals. He is life member of the Bangladesh Botanical Society, senior member of the Asia-Pacific Chemical, Biological & Environmental Engineering Society, and former member of Japanese Society of Grassland Science, and Ecological Society of Japan.
