Dr. Muhsin Konuk is currently working as Professor of Molecular Cell Biology. He obtained his PhD in Biochemistry from Swansea University in 1994. He has experience in academic life nearly 28 years. Besides these scientific duties, he acted as Dean of Faculty (5 years), Head of Department (13 years), member of University Governing Body (8 years), member of Faculty Governing Body (13 years), Coordinator of International Relations (4 years), Coordinator for Vacational High Schools (4 years), Chair of Adjudication Committee of the University (1 year), Director of the Graduate school of Basic and Applied Sciences (3 yeras), Vice Chancellor (2 years). He has published 145 papers, 8 books/books chapters, Presented 80 posters/oral presentations, involved around 25 research projects and be member of a number of scientific meetings both national and international. He is member of a number of journals , editorial board and acted as editor-in-chief in two journals and reviewer at more than 30 different journals. Dr. Konuk supervised 20 postgraduate research thesis. He is now one of the member of the Swansea University Court. He also attended training course in Leeds University in 1997 (10 weeks). He is member of 5 different occupational societies. He studies on molecular toxicology, genotoxicity / antigenotoxicity and mutagenicity / antimutagenicity of both natural or synthetic substances. He is also so interested in Pharmacogenomics and Personalized Therapy.
