Dr. Mohammad Sohail is presently working as Young Scientist at University Department of Zoology, Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag. He has received his Ph.D. in Public Health from National Institute of Malaria, India. Previously he was appointed as Post Doctoral Scientist at School of Medicine, New York University, Post Doctoral Fellow at University of California-Riverside, and Senior Research Fellow at NIMR in collaboration with Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), and Junior Research Fellow at Shriram Institute for Industrial Research New-Delhi, India. Dr. Sohail received honors includes Young Scientist award by International Society for Ecological Communications in an International Conference, Young International Scientists award by Chinese Academy of Sciences to work in Institute of Microbiology, Beijing, China, Young Scientist Award by Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, and received Award from International Society for Infectious Diseases. He has completed 2 funded research projects and currently working on 4 research projects as principal investigator and co-investigator. He is member of professional societies such as International Society for Interferon and Cytokine Research, Society for Free Radical Biology & Medicine, Clinical Immunology Society (CIS), International Cytokine Society, and International Association for DNA Vaccine. He has published 2 books, 16 research articles in journals, 9 research papers in international journals, contributed as author/co-author. He also attended number of conferences, seminars, and workshops and performed many presentations. His area of research interest focuses on Identification and Molecular characterization of Vaccine Candidate Antigens like CSP, MSP-1 and II, MSP-3 Alpha, AMA-1 etc. in P.vivax and P.falciparum Isolates, Identification and Molecular characterization of Immunomodulatory Genes like TNF and Inflammatory Interleukins in P.vivax isolates, Molecular characterization of Drug Resistance Gene like Pv-mdr-1, Pv and Pf -dhps and Pv and Pf-dhfr etc. form different locations of India in Clinical Malaria and so on.
