Biography

Dr. Ravichandran Muralidharan has been awarded the Doctor of Philosophy in the field of Information and Communication Engineering from Anna University in 2015. His core area of research include Intrusion Detection Systems in the area of Network Security and his Ph.D. thesis titled “Certain Investigations in Intrusion Detection Systems in Wireless Adhoc Networks”. He earned his Masters degree in Optical Communication from College of Engineering, Anna University, Chennai in 2002 and he acquired his Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engg., from Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, Sriperumbudur in 2000. His Masters project work titled “VHF/UHF Monopole Antenna Design for MICROSATELLITE”, involved the prototype development of antenna subsystem for the “ANUSAT” microsatellite launched by Anna University and ISRO and now orbiting the earth.

He has served as Principal Investigator for funded Research Project titled “Intrusion Detection in Wireless Adhoc Network using Adaptive Heuristic Algorithm” with funding of Rs.6.71 Lakhs from “Defense Research and Development Organization”. He has also applied for research funding from “Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology, India & National Institute of Bio-Medical Imaging and BioEngineering, USA” during his tenure in Saveetha University. He has recently applied in overseas Research Council for “Faculty Mentored Undergraduate Research Award Programme” funding from the government of Sultanate of Oman.

He has also applied for Intellectual Property Rights (IPR-India) for his innovation in teaching methodology titled “Development of Power point based software for Innovative Teaching Methodology” during his tenure in Saveetha University and was awarded for the contribution.

He has actively served in various positions from Lecturer to Associate Professor in various Institutions in India and overseas. He has more than 13.5 years of teaching experience out of which he has contributed 3 years for active research in the funded project from DRDO. To his worthy credit he has guided many undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.

He is serving as a Reviewer for Elsevier Journal of Computer and Electrical Engineering and has reviewed nearly 10 research papers. He has recently won accolades such as “Outstanding Reviewer for Elsevier Journal of Computer and Electrical Engineering in 2015” from Elsevier for his outstanding quality of work as reviewer.

His research areas include Network Security, Computer Architecture, Intelligent Systems and Biomedical Engineering. He is a life member of professional body ISTE.
